How long have you been in business?
The American Karate Academy was founded in April 1993. We started with three members who shared the most sincere commitment and a single thought: "everyone has the right to learn how to protect himself or herself and become a better person."
What is your primary product or service?
Martial Arts training for your Family. Our program is a combination of different styles. Much like our country is a "melting pot" of cultures, we are a "melting pot" of styles. The kicking techniques we use are from Tang Soo Do, a Korean martial art. Our foundation in our stances and forms is from Shotokan Karate of Japan. The self-defense comes from Aikido and Hapkido. The boxing and grappling comes from Japanese and Philippine martial arts. The weapons come from Okinawa, Japan and the Philippines. We will continue to evolve by adding and removing techniques as we learn.
While our school has grown we still maintain our family atmosphere, adhere to our original commitment, and strive to provide you with one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We strive to create a family oriented Martial Arts School. We offer various times and days so the schedule will work with just about anyone. We do not require contracts and we offer the first two weeks as a free trial.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
At this point we have one location.

Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Mark Clark is the owner and Head instructor of the School.
What are your hours of operation?
Monday - Thursday we are open from 5 - 8:30. Friday we have testing at 6:00 pm. Saturday we are open from 10 - 12.
